Show Santa On TheMove As Dec. 25th Approaches Claus Arrives Mt. Pleasant Saturday Nite Ml. Pleasant's official welcome wel-come to Santa Ciaus will be tendered Saturday evening at 8 p.m. in front of the city hall. Santa will greet the hundreds of . children expected to be waiting for him Saturday nigln by emerging from, a gigantic fireplace which will be built around the front entrance-way to city hall. For the kids who turn out to see him Santa will have a bag packed full of goodies includ- " ing nuts and candy and oranges. These will be passed out by Santa's helpers from the American Legion. Some of Santa's helpers from the Legion who helped jolly old St. Nick sack candy and nuts Wednesday evening are Eldcn Hughes, Gor- don Sttaker, Shirley Johansen and Joe Olsen. The legion will also have charge of the program which will feature Mayor S. M. Neilsen as master of ceremonies. There will bo music by student singers from Hamilton school, directed by Mrs. Ethel Ericksen, and by the Terrianettes, directed by E. B. Terry of Spring City. Members of the Mt. Pleasant junior chamber of commerce have charee of decorations and street fencing and members of the National Guard will assist city peace officers in controllinr; traffic. Meantime, various organizations organiza-tions are planning special parlies par-lies for this children of members. The IOOF Santa party 'is slated for Monday evening at the Lodge hall. American Legion Leg-ion kids will celebrate Wednesday Wednes-day evening at the Legion hall while sprouts belonging to Jay-cees Jay-cees and their wives will mopt Santa at a city hall party. The Lions club is planning its Santa San-ta Claus party for Thursday night at City Hall. ' |
