Show Cut in Pressure of Gas Gives London Shivers LONDON. A second successive cut in the gas pressure sent a new chill up the spines of Londoners already al-ready shivering in 21 degree weather, weath-er, coldest of the winter. The greater part of the capital depends de-pends on gas for heat and cooking. The pressure already was so low it would hardly make a blaze. Company officials said the new cut in gas pressure of up to 35 per cent . was due to exhaustion of surplus supplies which could not be replaced : because of the labor shortage. l |
