Show Assessment Valuation for Sanpete Less Than 1939 The assessed valuation of Sanpete San-pete County for 1940 is $283,735 less than it was in 1939, according to Clive Hansen, county assessor. "The exemption of . household furniture under $300 valuation is responsible for the lion's share of the loss," Mr. Hansen said "for last year we assessed $186,375 of household furniture and this year our tax rolls will show no esses-ment esses-ment on furniture." The assessor's report to the State Tax Commission shows there are 2613 automobiles registered regist-ered in the county for 1940, fifteen more than last year, but with a total valuation loss of $26,000. "Part of this loss," Mr. Hansen said, "is offset by gains in the valuation of other types of property. prop-erty. We have approximately eighteen thousand acres more of grazing land this year than last, which gives us an increased value of $33,000, and the improvements on city and town lots show an increase in-crease of $22,000."
