Show Banquet Given By W.P.A. and Service Projects Tne nation's "unfinished business busi-ness ' passed into review during l;u- week of Mav 20 to 25. At Mi Pleasant the Wl'A Professional and Service Projects held open house Monday evening at the Mechanical Arts building where llo dinner guests trom Moroni. Spring City, Fairview, Fountain Green and Mt. Pleasant were served at 6:30 p. m. with Mrs. Edith luller acting as master of ceremonies. Mrs. Fuller stated that in order to aquaint the people of America with the accomplishments accomplish-ments of the professional and service projects, the sponsors ot tne various projects are holding open house this week in manv piacvs over the nation, as a special get together movement. At 7:3d p. m. a s-pecial National broadcast was given featuring Mrs. Franklin D. Kooseveh, John K. Carmody, director of Federal Works Agency, Col. F. C Harrington, V. P. A. Commissioner Com-missioner and Mrs. Florence Kerr, Assistant Commissioner of V. p! The radio for the broadcast was furnished through the courtesy of Verl McKav, manager of Rite-Way Store. The program was as follows: Address of welcome by Mrs Edith Fuller. Community singing led by Mrs. T. W. Jensen with Mrs. Ernest G. Brur.ger at the piano. Sewing and School Lunch by Mrs. Genieva Tucker. Adult Education by Wiiford Winkler. Nursery school by Mrs. Wing. Bench. Response by Principal Dean Community singing by Mrs. T. W. Jensen and Mrs. Brunger. Committers The committees in charge of arrangements for the event were as follows: General chairman, Mrs. Edith Fuller. Ticket chairman, Evan Beck. Reservation, Mrs. Theresa F. Wing. Publicity, Evan Beck and Wiiford Wii-ford Winkler. Dinner, Hannah Ericksen, Bertha Ber-tha Ericksen, Sadie Allred, and Mjinie Olsen. Serving, Beatrice Olsen, El-berda El-berda Matesen, lone Draper and Betty Wing. Reception, Mrs. Alberta Merz and Wallace Rosenlof. Seat:ng. Archia Aiken and Milton Mil-ton Allred. I: is expected that during the week at least one-third of the adult public will inspect projects operated under W.P.A. leadership. 1 Since these programs are spon sored, oy local governmental units i for the benefit of all the people in the communities, it will be worth i while for every public spirited citizen to see what has been termed term-ed "The largest enterprise of its kind ever undertaken by any government." |
