Show Lions' Speaker Stresses Need For Cooperation For "Smaller" World Cooperation between all elements ele-ments in a community church, school, business, government and civic was urged Wednesday Wednes-day evening by II. Alvah Fitzgerald, Fitz-gerald, Ephraim, in an address to members of the Mt. Pleasant Lions club. Mr. Fitzgerald is district governor gov-ernor of the Lions club. Accompanied Accom-panied by Mrs. Fitzgerald at the dinner, which was "ladies' night" for the local organization, organiza-tion, the club official compli-' compli-' mented the Mt. Pleasant Lions for providing an organization in which persons of different religious relig-ious beliefs, and competitive businesses could, gather together for a better understanding of the "other man's view." Following the address by the Lions' leader, Elden Hughes, president of the local club, showed some motion pictures. The meeting saw a lighter touch when Mac Hafen and Carroll Car-roll Farley were given a mock initiation into the club. They were required to make Easter bonnets for their wives out of a strange assortment of pins, straw, ribbons and baby rattles The meeting was conducted by the Rev. E. E. Bollinger, a vice president. |
