Mikkelscn announces announc-es the marriage of her daughter, Verla, to Wesley Marx of Mt. Pleasant, Plea-sant, on July 27th, at Manti. Their j many relatives and friends wish them success and happiness. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Allen of Los Angeles, returned home thi-i week after a three months' visit here. The annual Lamb Day celebration celebra-tion of Ftn. Green will be held on August 22nd. The program Is an excellent one, consisting of boxing bouts, a free barbecue of 20 lambs and two dances in the evening. Everyone Ev-eryone is invited. Mis. Janet Despain, 78, is bedfast bed-fast since last week, due to a stroke which affected her speech as well as her bony She is somewhat m. proved, however, at this reporting. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Huggins announce an-nounce the marriage of their son, Odell, to Miss Elaine Nielsen oi Moroni. Everyone wishes them success suc-cess in their future wedded life. Mrs. Averil Larson is just recovering recov-ering from a tonsil operation which was performed last Saturday. Miss Rae Blackham, 13, daughter of Mrs: Peter Hansen, is at the Dice. Hospital, where she underwent an operation for appendicitis, Sundry Sun-dry evening. She' is reported to be getting along nicely now. Newell Guymon.. and Earl Ivory left this week on a trip to Oregon. They were accompanied by Mrs. Emelia Hill, Mrs. Ernest Hansen and Miss Ivy Hansen, who went to visit relatives there. They expect to return in a couple of weeks. The monthly Home Economics meeting was held Friday on the Ward chapel lawn, where a program pro-gram was enjoyed, a demonstration cn making a fly trap was made, and games were played, after which refreshments were served. There were 50 present. The Stake Primary held their annual an-nual Stake Day last Wednesday at the dance hall, when officers and teachers from all the wards of the Stake, except one,- were present. Dances and stunts for the coming season were demonstrated by the Stake officers, after which refreshments refresh-ments were served to 57. Mrs. Sarah E. Allred and Ercel Shurtz, accompanied by Homer Olson Ol-son of Monroe, enjoyed a trip last week to Bryce Canyon. The Misses Theora and Francis Tuttle of Springville are spending a couple of" weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Averil Larson. The Misses Geneil and Una Old-royd Old-royd returned to Monroe Wednesday, Wednes-day, after visiting for two weeks with Mrs. Luvina Aagard and family. fam-ily. Several girl friends spent an afternoon af-ternoon this week with Miss Evelyn Eve-lyn Smyth, where the afternoon was spent in chatting, after which delicious refreshments were served. |
