Show Fairview City Officer Found Dead in Stable Dan James, city marshal and city collector of Fv.irview City, was fem.'d dead early Monday in hi stable by Mrs. James. He had b en missing since Sunday evening. Kf citd by hanging, apparently at hij own hands. A knotted lariet waj arou d his neck. His body slumped iart ally to the floor. Sheriff Ed J. Peterson, who investigated in-vestigated the death, said the mar-Uiall mar-Uiall had committed suicide. Con tinued ill health and a despond- -ent feeling over the possibility of ' lesing his job was given as " the reason for the act. He was born July 3, 1874, at Tyn-iwydd, South Wales, England. Ho immigirat'd to thte UWted States with the Josriah Thomas' fanvly in 1893. He lived one year In Chicago, one lrt Colorado, and two years in Vernon before ha cam:: to Fairview In 1896. He waa married to Nancy Oar-'ic, Oar-'ic, July 12, 1899 at Fairview. Htf wai; Just'ce of the p ace for four years and city marehall for twelve years. Surviving are his wifa, four children, Evan James of CastH Dale, Mrs. Ruby Jenkins, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Mary Coono and Dana James, Fairview; six grandchildren; grand-children; also two brothers and "igh'j si ters all of South Wales, England. , Funeral services Were held D-e--cVmber 26 in the South ward chapel cha-pel at twelve o'clock with Bishop Peter Nielsos presid'ng. The choir und r the direction of H. P. Hansen, Han-sen, sang; prayer was offered by Ama.ia Terry; a vocal solo, Lay My H ad Beneath the Rose," waa by Floyd Young. The rpeakers were A. L. Carlston, John R. Graham and A. J. And'rson. Mr. Anderson Ander-son spoke of visiting the James' homfe in South Wales, England, where he met all of Mr. James' r. la-live i They wetre v ry good people.
