Show Edwin S. Day of Castle Dale Dies at Salt Lake EcUjn Su miners Day, 82 died at a Salt Lake hcrpital Sunday. He had been a resident of Castle Dale, Utah for the past 57 years and was a son of Abraham and Elmyra Day. He was born Jan. 25th, 1857. He wias one of the early pioneers of H.r.iery County. Dialling his residence there he had engaged in the lumbering business, running a saw mill east cf Castle Dale. His father was also engaged in the lui.r.iber business. He'Yvas one of the first to build roads into the rioutains east'ef Castle Dale and was known ss a pioneer road builder in Castle Dale and Emery County. In 1890 he filled a mission for the church to the Southern States. He svas at tie time of his death a high priest in the Emery Stake. Always Jait: ful, he was counted cn as one of the staunch -ward teachers of his ward. He is survived by the following sons and daughters: Henry E. Day, 3 ring Canyon; C. S. Day, Spring Canyon; Junius Day, Castle Dale; Floyd Day, Price; Mrs. Edna Rober-scn, Rober-scn, Nevada; Mrs. Inez Fox, Los Angeles; Harcld Day. Phoenix, Ar.z. Ei i.-.iteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the ward hapel at Castle Dale under the lirection of Bishop E. A. Nielson. Burial will take place in the Castle Dale cemetery. |
