Show Pioneer Day-Tunnel Day-Tunnel Rites at Spring City Religicus services in Sp.ing City Sunday, with a central theme of praise for early pioneers, will op.n a three-day combined Picneer days tunnel opening celebration. Celebrated jointly with programs honoring pioneers will be formal opening cf an irrigation tunnel L.mginb' w-ater from the Colorado nve. ixatershed to San Pitch valley. Af.er .eligious services Sunday, celebrants will note more mundane ih.mes Monday, with a parade thro Spring City main street, carnival, sports and other attrac;ions. Tuesday, final day of the celebration, cele-bration, will be highlighted by a caravan traveling over the skyline urive to the mouth of the tunnel, r'.oneers more than 70 years of age ,vul be furnished transportation. The caravan will leave Spring City at 9 a. m., traveling by way of tpn:aim canyon. The caravan will visit the east portal of the $128,000 tunnel, wnieh is under const, uction. At this point the elevation is 10,000 feet. From there the cara-.an cara-.an will move to the Meadows and Pine grove at the top cf the mountain moun-tain for lunch and a program. tine Spring City band, directed by iirnest B. Te.ry, will play selections at each stop. The program during iur.ch will include music and talks oy Soren M. Nielsen, a member of .re storage committee when the uTincl project was started; Vivian xarsen, president of the Horseshoe iiilgaiion company, and J. W. rtumprines, forest supervisor.
