Show Dicrder Is Not Striking In the State of Rhode Island rioting and disorder has resulted from "the strike of textile workers. In one town a laii'ge group cf non-worker:; non-worker:; smashed traffic and street lights, broke store windows and entered merchandise establishments, establish-ments, which were looted. Needles- to say, rioting and violence vio-lence of this kind are not legitimate methods for strikers to use as a means of forcing employers and manufacturers to grant their demands. de-mands. No responsible labor leader contends this, as far as we know, and such activities must be charged to the irresponsible and thought le;s elements among the strikers. Even these, however, should know that such conduct will mean military mili-tary control, because no state is going to allow such violence and destruction to proceed without us ijjg every effort, including force, to .stop it. |
