Show CANT UNITE EVEN ON PRAYER We are indeed a peculiar people. We! could not unite even on the matter of prayer. One local rock-ribbed reactionary reaction-ary sSid, "The President's prayer was just yvords." Another, a man who pins his faith to "dollars of destiny" more than he does to prayers said, "It was a good stump speech." Strange, the same was said of the Sermon on the Mount. They will praise the Hotentot for mumbling a "prayer" to an unknown power, and call an Indian religious because he ; mumbles words to the great spirit. But they have not vision to recognize the president as Christian and sincere in leading his people in prayer on one of the most momentous occasions in history. Too busy garnishing the sepuldhre of the dead leaders while stoning the living. |
