Civic Leaders of Pleasant rove Eniov lour of Senior Hssli School Approximately fifty educational education-al and civic leaders visited the site of Pleasant Grove's new Senior Sen-ior High School last Friday afternoon af-ternoon on an invited tour of inspection. in-spection. The tour of the spacious school plant was conducted by the late Boardmembar, Niels Fugal, Fu-gal, and the construction foreman. fore-man. Other school officials who made the inspection were Superintendent Super-intendent Alma P. Burton, Clerk of the Board Elijah Chipman, Board members George Bone, Lehi and Alfred J. Madsen and Murray J. Rawson, Orem; Super visors Lloyd B. Adamson and Dan W. Peterson and Principal A. J. PvOgers. Practically eveiy civic and social so-cial organization of the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove area was represented in the group and the risponse to the invitation was remarkable, remark-able, considering the cold, inclement in-clement weather conditions which prevailed Friday afternoon. Nothing but enthusiastic amazement was expressed by the visitors at the size and appointments appoint-ments of the new educational facility. Construction is currently current-ly going forward rapidly and is at least 70 per cent complete. Features which stimulated considerable con-siderable comment were the huge classroom unit, the efficienlly arranged shops, the two spacious gymnasiums, the 800-scat capacity capac-ity auditorium, the Little Theater, Thea-ter, thte home arts facilities, the health department and the administration ad-ministration offices. Even the football field is in shape, with curbs constructed, syjrinkling system installed and the soil ready for grass seed. A huge cast-stone terazza court located between the main buildings attracted, much favorable favor-able comment. It can be used extensively ex-tensively for outdoor activities. |
