Show AAUW of Pleasant Grove Hears Mrs. Lloyd C. Cullimore On the evening of Wednesday, March 5, the Pleasant Grove branch of the AAUW met at the home of Mrs. Edward Roberts. The guest speaker was Mrs. Lloyd C. Cullimore of Provo, who is the Women Chairman for the state. She gave a very interesting and enlightening talk about women and their place in our society. She used statistics and medical reports to show .that the average woman will live six years longer than a man her age. Thus women ican expect to have at least six years in which they will be alone. This should be a time when woman does all the things she has never had time to do in the past. These should be her creative years. And yet, she pointed out, these are lonely years for most women, because be-cause they become so used to doing nothing but caring for their house and family 'that that they don't have the desire to do anything else. She pointed out how important import-ant it is for a woman .to keep herself her-self creatively alive. Hostess Theil Roberts and Retta Crease served a very tasty luncheon. lunch-eon. Others present were Carol Jaynes, Edna Newman, June Mon-son, Mon-son, Bernice Monson, Leona Carson, Car-son, Mildred Ferre, Ann Hanson, Elma Fugal and Ruth Bezzant. |
