Show Turkey Growers Slate Meeting For Dec. 11-12 United effort of the nation's turkey growers is the best solution solu-tion to present and future problems prob-lems of the industry, the president presi-dent of the National Turkey Federation Fed-eration said today. Walt Schwedler, Portland, Oregon, Ore-gon, president, said that slipping margins of profit are forcing turkey tur-key growers to realign their sights. Like their counterparts in other phases of agriculture and business they are standing at the crossroads. They must decide whether to get in or get out, he said. Mr. Schwedler will be the fea-. tured speaker during the 12th annual Turkey Show, Dec. 11 and 12, in the Hotel Utah Motor Lodge in Salt Lake City. The colorful show will be held in conjunction with the Utah Turkey Federation convention. Mr. Schwedler continues: "Those who can develop the best way of making a profit will rise to greatest success. There always al-ways will be money in the turkey tur-key business ..." The turkey grower's greatest danger, he said, is being complacent com-placent in making changes and feeling that he 'has it made.' John S. Morgan, president of the UTF and chairman of the Utah Turkey Marketing Board said these problems and others of marketing and research will be aired during the annual two-day convention. Some 250 Utah turkey growers, grow-ers, who have put Utah among the top ten turkey producing states in the nation, 'Will participate partic-ipate in the business and social sessions.
