Show ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEWS Attendance at Grovecrest is around 97 pi-r cent. District average av-erage for the past month was 96 per cent. State funds for schools are based on actual attendance. The teachers appreciate the fine attendance record at Grovecrest School. Eoys and girls in regular attendance seldom have severe learning problems. ESN Daniel Crouse, custodian at the Grovecrest, is convalescing at the American Fork hospital after undergoing un-dergoing surgery. Students and teachers -wish him a speedy recovery. re-covery. ESN Mrs. Edna Newman, special education ed-ucation teacher at Grovecrest, has been administering tests to her students during the past two weeks. These tests are the Dur-rell Dur-rell Analysis of Reading and the Durrell-Sullivan Capacity and Achievement Tests. ESN The boys and girls in Mr. Paulson's Paul-son's fifth grade at Grovecrest have been conducting an experiment experi-ment on diet. Their subjects in this have been "Mickey" and "Rickey" two white rats. They have both been Tecedving the same food exoapt for milk. Rickey Ric-key has water and no milk in his diat. Mickey has gained 35 grams in the past two weeks and Rickey has gained only 2 grams. ESN The Grovecrest rooms and halls are decorated in a Thanksgiving mood. Boys and girls are full of Thanksgiving spirit and looking forward to the two-day holiday. ESN On Nov. 18 the entire student-body student-body of Lindon School went to BYU to see the play "Ajm's Papoose Hideout," presented by the children of the Training School there. ESN The Central Fourth graders will entertain their parents at a program Dec. 4 at 6:45 at the school. The theme is "All in a Year."
