Show Letter to Editor . . . Dear Edit or, Each time I come home from one of the beautifully presented, poorly attended programs, prepared pre-pared by the High School, I feel the urge to write a letter to the editor. After hearing the A Cap-pella Cap-pella choir tonight; listenening to Prof Roman Andrus, chairman of the Art Department of BYU; and seeing paintings of some of our talented Utah artists at the annual Art Tea, I feel compelled1 to actually ac-tually write a note. Can seeing professionals in movies mov-ies or on television be any more rewarding than seeing our own young people perform in music, drama, and art? How long will our teen-agers continue to do their best in cultural programs, if their own families and friends don't care enough about their efforts to spend a few hours .enjoying the fruits of their labors? Wouldn't it be better to lend encouragement and support sup-port to them now than to worry about detention homes to. keep them in when our own lack of intsrest causes them to become irresponsible citizens? Certainly, I realize that people are terribly busy, but surely there must be more than fifty people in town who have time to attend a choice evening of entertainment. The price certainly isn't prohibitive (Wednesday night's program was not only free, there were refreshments refresh-ments too) and believe me our students were never better. Sincerely yours, ELMA W.
