Show Young Couple Are Honored at Reception Recently In a very impressive temple ceremony cer-emony on April 28 Margaret Hundley, Hund-ley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Dav-id A. Green, became the bride of David C. Nelson of Cardston, Alberta, Al-berta, Canada. Witnessing the sacred rites, where Elder Robert C. Burton officiated, of-ficiated, were parents of the bride and groom, and Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Nelson of Calvary, Canada., Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Daines of Cardston, Card-ston, Mr. and1 Mrs. E. H. Long, Mrs. Maggie Hundley, the brides' grandmother of Orem; Mr. & Mrs. Brian Nelson of Edmonton, Can., Miss Bemiece Bancroft, of Perth, Australia, Mrs. Cleve Nelson, Mrs. Chase Smith, Salt Lake City, Mrs. Robert Fabian, New Mexico, Mrs. Emma Rasmussen, Provo. Following the marriage, parents of the groom entei-tained the entire en-tire party at a wedding breakfast at the Doll Hovise, where they were joined by Gayle Daines, Judy Nelson, Nel-son, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Jenkins, Mrs. McKay Christensen, and Shelley, Shel-ley, David, and Dennis, and Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Poll of Palo Alto, Calif. On the evening of April 29, the young couple were honored by the brides' parents at an exquisitely arranged reception at the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove First-Fifth Ward chap- el. The bride and groom received relatives and friends. Background for the bridal party was a sunburst design of orange, sand, peach, and white, with a large white satin heart centei-ed with roses and edged with tulle from the brides veil and bridesmaids brides-maids dresses. The whole effect was enhanced with lighted candelbra, glads, ferns and white wedding bells. In the line, assisting the young couple were their parents, matron of honor, Mrs. E. H. Long, and other attendants, Misses Collie Crosby, Mary Ann Harding, Glenys Brown and Mrs. Max Frampton. Best man was Dean Garner. For her wedding the bride donned don-ned a gown of beaver skinner satin, sat-in, designed by herself, with pointed point-ed fitted bodice, buttoned in ths back with long pointed sleeves, mandarin neckline, finished with tulle and seed pearls. It had) pleated pleat-ed skirt, fashioned entrain, with overskirt of nylon tulle. The sheer illusion veil fell from a cap of satin sat-in and tulle enhanced with seed pearls. She carried a white orchid nestled in stephonatis. Matron of honor wore peach taffeta taf-feta with nylon-tulle overskirt and other attendancs were similarily gowned in orange taffeta and held white and orange carnations. Pretty little flower girls Kathie Ann Christensen and Loraine Bobo were clad in orange frocks and oarried baskets of petals. Mrs. Green was gowned in beige brocade and Mrs. Nelson wore eggshell. egg-shell. Both pinned orange glads on their shoulders. Music during the receiving hours was furnished by Robert Ogle, solo vox and piano. Receiving guests at the door were the brides sister Mrs. Wayne Jenkins and Mrs. McKay Christensen Chris-tensen saw to the guest registration. registra-tion. Bryan K. Hundley and McKay Mc-Kay Christensen ushered. Clifford Hales emceed the program. pro-gram. Prayer was given by Eleroy West of the bishopric. Bridal chorus chor-us from Lohengrin, Patricia Seel-ey Seel-ey and Jeanne Walker, accompanied accompan-ied by Laurel Thome. Bridal march and waltz, accompanied accom-panied by Robert Ogle; Canadian song, Golden Woolf; violin number, num-ber, June Edwards; oncertina selection, sel-ection, Clarence Ligman; toast to the bride, Glenys Brown, and a dance by Joanne Christensen. The toast to the groom was given by a brother, Reed Nelson, and a vocal solo by Warren Kirk accompanied by Mrs. Kirk, was followed) by the benediction by Brian Nelson. Arranging the gift display were Mrs. Bryan P. Hundley, Miss Car-ma Car-ma Rae McPhie, Mrs. Madge Peterson, Pet-erson, and Mrs. Dean Powell. Gift bearers were Patricia Lynn Green and Earline Giles. Serving table was covered with a white satin cloth centered with a tiered wedding wed-ding cake, flanked with orange carnations and lighted candles. Serving refreshments to the guests were Misses Joyce Bullock, Doris Halliday, Georgia Herringer, Mi's. Thelbert Atkinson, ,Dora Young, Mrs. Clifford Hales, Mrs. David Blackhurst. The newlyweds are at home at 92 East Battle Creek Drive in Pleasant Grove. Prior to her marriage the new Ms. Nelson was honored at a shower show-er by her sisters and sister-in-law, Mrs. Wayne Jenkins and Mrs. McKay Mc-Kay Christensen, and Mrs. Bryan Hundley, at the Jenkins home in Provo. The affair, a green and yellow luncheon was enjoyed by 18 close relatives and friends and the honor guest was showered with good wishes and many lovely gifts for her new home. |
