Show Army Testing New Armored Clothing Armored clothing for protecting troops against low velocity shell fragments and bullets has been developed de-veloped by the army quartermaster quartermas-ter corps and will be submitted to field testing in the near future. Included In-cluded in the tests will be a new plastic helmet. Adoption of suggestions of its civilian employees during the past fiscal year has resulted in savings of $4,003,583.58, the army said. The savings were realized by putting into effect some 3,673 ideas submitted sub-mitted by army employees to improve im-prove efficiency of operation. The air force recently activated the 1st Pilotless Bomber Squadron (light) at the USAF missile test center, Cocoa, Florida. It was the first operational unit of its kind in the air force. The squadron will later be made combat ready by intensive in-tensive unit training. |
