Security that these same boys were buying in hardship, misery and desolation at the risk of their lives. How proud you will be when your boy says, "Mom and Dad you gave to the Red Cross to help and you have the receipts to show for it. Many parents gave but they didn't get receipts. Again you can be proud for in the ruin and destruction of the floods of the great Missouri Valleys, Val-leys, you helped furnish dry shelter, shel-ter, hot food, clean clothing and medical care. You sent them 764 trained disaster workers. You sent them trained Nurses. You repaired repair-ed their homes, restored their furniture and furnishings or even rebuilt their houses. You gave all of these things as has your neighbors for the past 70 years, even though you lived hundreds 'of miles away, even with your own responsibilities. You actually helped help-ed srive $4,974,380 to which, there was added $7,000,000 from disaster disas-ter reserves also $1,000,000 from current disaster funds to amass the huge sum of $13,768,475.89. In fact you gave them a new lep.e on life. Here is a summary of this vast sum: Rescue 87,185.95; Food 928,305.74; Building 8,736,658.63; Furnishing 2,839,240.11; Medicine and Nursing 64,668.35; Farm supplies, sup-plies, 35,847.67; Occupational Training 178,362.20; Administration Administrat-ion 898,207.24; this last figure is only GV2 per cent.
