Show Air Force Reduces Processing Time The Air Force has reduced to a maximum of four weeks the time for processing civilians into Air Force flying training. Formerly four months was required. The speed-up will enable accepted cadets to start training within three to five months after applying. A wait of seven to ten months was necessary in the past. VA says veterans who sell their homes and let the purchasers as sume the 4 per cent GI loans, remain re-main personally responsible for the payment of the loan. VA" said the best way to protect interest of the veteran is to take cash or arrange a loan in his own name. Also, when proceeds of a sale resulting from a foreclosure do not cover the amount of the GI loan outstanding, the difference dif-ference may remain a debt against the veteran. The VA has to pay the holder of the mortgage for the guaranteed guar-anteed portion of the debt. |
