Show Clarke Allred Funeral Conducted At Lindon Ward Sorrowing relatives and friends gathered on Thursday, Aug 3rd, to pay last tribute of respect to the memory of Clarke E. Allred, and extend sympathy and condolence condol-ence to his family. The servoces were held in the Lindon ward chapel at 2.30 p. m., with Bishop LeGrande Ercanbrack in charge. Opening number was a vocal duet, by Mrs. Clara Edwards and Mrs. Ella Smith, accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Caldwell. Invocation was offered by Joseph Jos-eph Swenson of the Lindon ward bishopric. Speakers who extolled the good works of Mr. Allred, paid tribute to his life of thrift and honesty and offered words of faith and encouragement en-couragement to his family were O. E. Maxfield of West Jordan, a cousin; Alroy Gillman, former Bishop of Lindon ward, and W. D. Chapman, all .men who had worked work-ed with Mr. Allred and knew him best. A sketch of Mr. Allred's life and work was read by Joan Anderson, a niece. Musical numbers, besides the opening duet, were a vocal solo, "The Green Cathedral," sung by Lynell Johnson, accompanied by Margene Page; and the closing number "In The Garden of Tomorrow" Tomor-row" by the Lindon ward chorus, directed by Oliver Johnson and Caldwell. After closing remarks of sympathy sym-pathy and appreciation by Bishop Ercanbrack, Paul Anderson, a brother in law, pronounced the benediction. Interment, directed by Olpin Mortuary, was made in the Pleasant Pleas-ant Gorve City cemetery, where the graveside prayer was offered by Clarence C. Wright. Pall bearers, members of the Lindon Town Board included Arnold Arn-old Hooley, Victor Vicklund, Joseph Jos-eph Swenson, Alroy Gillman, W. D. Chapman and Oliver Johnson. Mr. Allred, 54, died on Monday of last 'week, of a heart ailment, while at his work at the mouth of Dry Canyon, east of Lindon. |
