Show Jury Box Prank Upsets Unsuspecting Counsellor CHATTANOOGA, TENN. "Just a moment," said attorney James Cooper during a court trial here, "There's a rat in the jury box. Attorney Charles F. Raulston jumped to his feet demanding a mistrial "in view of Mr. Cooper's improper remark." Judge Joe N. Hunter overruled the motion after one juror had slapped his leg and jumped straight up. The rat wasn't a juror. It wasn't even a rat. One juror had brushed against the leg of another, causing caus-ing him to think a rat had run up his trouser leg. |
