Show ijBcriile Creekjj ! Breeze j' 1)OOOODOODOOOODI BY K. B. An 18-year old youth, according to a Salt Lake paper, was recent-. recent-. ly taken before a traffic court for operating an automobile after his dirver's livense had been revoked. He had previously been arrested numerous times, culminating in the loss of his license for hit and run driving. He was fined three dollars and ordered to spend three days in jail. In the same paper, I read of two teen age boys who were con-viced con-viced to shooting pheasants out of season. They were fined $100.00 each, their guns confiscated, and their hunting licenses revoked. From the above cases, we can logically draw but one conclusion in Utah, at least, a pheasant is far more valuable than a human life. It is small wonder that our traffic traf-fic death toll is increasing by leaps and bounds. Scores of motorists, who had had their licenses recind-ed, recind-ed, are still driving on our highways high-ways with impunity. If we confiscate a hunter s gun for illegal hunting, why don't we confiscate a driver's car when his repeated violations of the traffic rules make the cancelling of his operator's license necessary? How long, O Lord, must we suffer suf-fer these indignities before we do something about it? |
