Then o nto Rio de Janeiro and Capetown, Cape-town, said to be the grandest city in the world; then Corcavada, where stands a 60 ft statue of Christ. At Buenes Aires, a city of three million, he met his son Gerald, and they flew over the La Platte river to Uruguay and at Minte-vedio Minte-vedio visited the new LDS mission and high over the Andes mountains to Chili and Bolivia. They then flew back to Savannah, Cuba, and Florida, to Yucatan, Mexico and visited the Chilchens ruins there. Also they visited the famous chur- cnes adorned with gold and silver, plates of gold with hieroglyphics and many other things which were in themselves convincing of the divine authenticity of the Book of Mormon. Mr. Dalton says he saw many good business opportunities and Gerald's comment is that he has enjoyed his missionary work very much and that there is a need for missionaries in Argentina. |
