A Soviet military tribunal sentenced 14 former for-mer German SS (elite guard) ofll-cers ofll-cers and guards of the notorious Nazi Sachsenhausen concentration camp to life imprisonment at hard labor. Two additional defendants were sentenced to 15 years imprisonment at hard labor. The accused, including the camp commander, Anton Kaindl, and his two deputies, were charged with having put to death at least 100. 000 camp inmates and Russian p-' - 'ii-ers 'ii-ers of war.
