Show Farmers Advised To Use Wood The prospect of a transportation shortage which will curtail fuel .shipments makes it highly desirable that farmers substitute wood for other fuel where feasible. These are the recommendations of Grover B. Hill, assistant secretary of agriculture, agri-culture, to S. R. Boswell county agricultural agent. Wood fuel can be used advantageously advan-tageously on farms and in small towns were it is available, thus relieving re-lieving transportation facilities. In providing fuel for winter use, fanners can at the same time place their wood lots and orchards in good condition by utilizing the dead, cooked, defective and heavily tim-hered tim-hered trees, as well as doing away -with diseased and uneconomical fruit trees. The use of wood from orchards and canyons will release needed transportation for important war work. S. R. BOSWELL, County Agricultural Agent. |
