Show STAKE M. I. A. OFFICERS HONORED The Alpine Stake M. I. A. boards held a very lovely party at the Lion House, Salt Lake City, Wednesday evening. The social was in honor of the retiring board members, recently re-cently released, and they with the Stake Presidency were the guests of honor. Sixty four people attended. A dinner was served at 7:30, and the group then retired to the club-room club-room where an interesting program was carried out. Leo G. Meredith, new superintendent, was master of ceremonies, and reports were made by the retiring superintendent, C. A. Grant, and President May W. Halli-day, Halli-day, together with the newly appointed" ap-pointed" officers. Mrs. Edith G. Young sang two vocal solos and Leland Le-land Priday played a violin solo. Superintendent George Q. Morris of the General Board of the Y. M. M. I. A. and Helen Spencer Williams of the Y. W. M. I. A. boards' were invited in-vited guests and each took part on the program. After the program a tour of the Lion House was made with Sister Williams as guide. The unanimous expression was that it was a most interesting and enjoyable social. Mr. and Mrs. Ross West of Lin-don Lin-don are happy over the arrival of a baby boy, born Monday at the American Fork hospital. John Jack-lin Jack-lin of American Fork is the proud grandfather. Miss Irene Jones, University of Utah senior student, was a guest of honor at a party given this week by Carlson hall, women's dormitory, for all students residing there whose birthdays are in January or June. As special guests, the hall entertained University President and Mrs. George Thomas. Miss Jones graduated grad-uated from the American Fork high school in 1937. She is majoring in home economics. |
