Show Native of PL Grove To Fill Government Job Harild Driggs Robinson, native of Pleasant Grove, left here Sunday Sun-day for Salt Lake City, and left the same evening for the West Coast where he wlil embark for Shanghai, China to occupy a government post, as Consul General Gen-eral in the State Department. Mr. Robinson recently returned 'from Cairo, Egypt, where he served two years as secretary to theU. S. Legation at Cairo. Mr. Robinson has had many years experience in foreign diplomatic diplo-matic affairs, having served as consul in China and also at Singapore Sing-apore before the outbreak of the war. After a hazardous escape with his wife at the fall of Singapore, Sing-apore, he also served his govern- j ment at Brisbane and Sidney j Australia. ! Enroute from New York to his new assignment, Mr. Robinson visited over the weekend with his sister and brother in law, Mr. and Mrs. William Stagg, and other relatives here and in Salt Lake City. His wife is in New York City and will follow her husband to the Orient later in the spring. |
