Provo high school opens its Big Nine season with a home date a-gainst a-gainst the highly touted East high Leopards, who have piled up the best pre-season record of any of the Big Nine schools. The Bulldogs have been improving steadily, however, how-ever, and promise to give the vis- . itors a tough ball game. The power-packed East squad has been turning in wins handily over most of their opponents this year, and except for a loss to the powerful Box Elder Bees, have a great record this season. The Lincoln American Fork tussle looks to be pretty much in favor of the red-clad Cavemen. The Forkers have had only one bad night in their preseason games, : that against Springville, where they won by 3 points, and have stamped themselves already as an , outstanding contender for the state . wide honors that they almost cop- , ped last year. Lincoln has a very respectable record and a good crew, but are not given much chance with the Durrant-Feters wrecking crew. Discounting the fact that American Amer-ican Fork's record puts them head and shoulders above every team in the division, the other four crews are pretty evenly matched, and the game between Lehi and rieasant Grove shows promise of developing into one really good scrap. Both teams have looked good and bad during their pre-league battles, but when they are going i right, both have plenty of height ' ' and scoring power to ca", on. ) None of the Nebo testis looks " to be especially stronger than aTiy"" " of the others, which should make the division title race this year one of the best in years, with each game close and hard-fought.
