Show Harrington News A ten-year-old child, when he stops to reflect upon his life, can find quite unusual things for which to be grateful. These gifts to us are some that American Fork's Harrington Har-rington School children have mentioned men-tioned this week(. I am thankful: That we do not have chlorine in our drinking water. That we can have permanent waves instead of straight hair. That we have good strong teeth and a free dentist. That the dentist is through working work-ing on us. That we can take vitamins like pills. . That our air is not full of smoke. That we have so many cats and dogs and pet animals. That glass was invented for windows win-dows and bottles and our eyes. That our homes have electric lights, mail boxes, irons, radios, bathrooms, bath-rooms, door bells and telephones. That people have so many ways of keeping warm without open fires. That we have money so we will not need to trade for our needs. Then we can leam from our churches and schools and movies. That the war is not here to disturb dis-turb us. That we live near the mountains. That our books have slick paper, big print and colored pictures instead in-stead of pages like the old books have. That we know our times tables as well as we do. And that everyone we know has lived this long without dying. The Harrington school wears a gay festive holiday air for Thanksgiving. Thanks-giving. Turkeys, pilgrims and pumpkins pump-kins seems to be the prevailing motives mo-tives with the first Thanksgiving and the Mayflower's landing being the main topics. v The children in the Third and Sixth grades are having physical examinations given by three local doctors. The doctors are donating their time for this cause and are assisted by the school nurse. |
