Show With The Service Men SERVICE MEN Corporal' Frank Newman left Thursday for Spokane, Washington, alter spending a months furlough here with his wife and his parents Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Newman. Iliil Haycock left Wednesday for Fort Douglas to begin training in the U. S- armed forces. He has a wife Lucy Wadley Haycock and 3 children: Joan, Roland and Paul Hurley Glllman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gillmun of Windsor ward, and Garth Walker, son of Mr. ami Mrs. Lawrence Walker left Salt Lake City Sunday for Catalina Island to begin training in the U-S. U-S. Merchant Marine. . Lieutenant Marvin Pierson, U. S. Air Force is here from Luke Field, Arizona, to spend a week's leave with his parents Mr. and Mrs-Wm. Mrs-Wm. Pierson and other relatives. Robert Holdaway, ship'Htter 2c, U. S. Navy . arrived home Friday to spend a 25 day leave with his family here- Robert entered the service almost a year and half ago, and has spent more than a year o'f that time on active duty in the Pacific, on a L. S. T. boat. He has served in four invasions, Siapan, Linian, Pelew, and Luzon. He was met in Salt Lake City by his wife, Edna Fugal Holdaway, his two children; his mother Mrs- Margaret Margar-et Holdaway and his sister Miss Margie Holdaway and Mrs, Shirley Taylor. Technical Sergeant Fred Atwood arrived home Thursday from Germany, Ger-many, where he spent more than a year in combat service with General Gen-eral George Patten's Thirrl army. T. Sgt. Atwood left here more than 4 years ago with what was then the Utah National Guard. After a 45 day furlough with his mother Mrs. Margaret Atwood, he will return to camp. T. Sgt. Atwood says home looks good after the battle scarred countries of Europe. He has a brother S. Sgt. Lynn Atwood serving ser-ving overseas with General Patches 7th army. SAPTAIN AND MRS. H. GLEN ROBERTSON ARE HONORED AT GARDEN PARTY Mr- and Mrs. H. C. Robertson entertained Friday afternoon at a garden party in compliment to Captain and Mrs. H. Glen Robertson, Robert-son, who are visiting here from Camp Brownwoon, Texas. Outdoor Out-door games and social chat wiled away the afternoon, after which a tasty hot luncheon was served. Friends and relatives present to greet Captain Robertson and' his bride were: Mrs. Jennie Johnson; Mrs. Helen Udell, Mrs- Lucile Evans, and Mrs. Edna Peterson oi L-ehi; Mrs. Alice Thornton, Mrs.-Inez Mrs.-Inez Nelson. Mrs. Beth Cook and Mrs. Nina Wanlass of American Fork; Mrs Hazel Peterson of Orem; Mrs- Ruth McDanie! of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Christine McDaniel oi Alpine; Mrs. Sylvia Peterson, Mrs Eileen Peck and James C.
