With the backing of the Pleasant Grove Chamber of Commerce the Review in recent weeks has made important im-portant changes which are expected to result in a bigger, big-ger, newsier and livelier home-town paper which will seek to be of service at all times and to promote the welfare wel-fare and progress of the community. To do this, we need . your ideas and help. The Review wishes you, the public, to regard this as your newspaper, and to feel free to offer criticism and helpful suggestions which will enable the editors to give you the type of home-town newspaper you desire. In order to secure the opinions of our readers, we are sponsoring a prize letter contest on the subject: "What I Desire in the Home-Town Paper". The rules have been made as simple as possible, to ensure a good response. Simply send a letter addressed to the Review, before May 1, pointing out changes which you think should be made, and offering sincere suggestions on how to improve the paper. The letters should be original, should not exceed 500 words, and should be written in a legible manner. They will be judged solely on their merit, and not on their appearance or literary form. Letters may be mailed to the Review, or submit--ted to Mrs. Lucile Walker, Review reporter. The prizes will be a two-year subscription to the Review for the best letter, and one-year subscriptions for the second and third prizes. ! To prospective letter-writers, we suggest that you get a recent issue of the Review (published during the past three weeks) , and read it carefully. See if the news coverage is complete, find out if there are enough items about people you know, study the news-writing style, and notice the make-up and general appearance. Then, decide what might be done to improve on the newspaper. Be critical we can "take it". It's a contest 'in which ideas will count, and which anyone might win. Furthermore, you'll be doing the Review and our community a service at the same time. Do it now! Write us a letter! |
