Show High School News EDNA ANDERSON, Reporter Hie police system has been reorganized. reor-ganized. Those officers who have served since the beginning of the year have been honorably released and the following students have taken their places: Clinton Ger- ber, Paul Watkins, Victor Bowen and Wayne Booth. A new boys club has been organized organ-ized to help create more pep and school spirit at the basketball games. Arnold Terry is president with Wayne Booth as vice president and Phil Jensen as secretary and treasurer. treas-urer. Mr. Giddings is the faculty advisor for the club. The Beethoven club held a party at the home of Zola Grant, Thursday, Thurs-day, December 26. The members went carroling and then enjoyed an evening playing Monte Carlo Whist after which they exchanged gifts. A tasty luncheon was served, carrying out the Christmas motif. Peter Beck and LaMar Clements were the hosts of the Beethoven club Thursday, January 2- The lesson les-son was given on the life of Wagner by Winnifred Babcock. Ann Clay-son Clay-son and Leland Friday rendered several sev-eral violin duets, accompanied by Naomi Halliday. A very tasty luncheon was served. Next Thursday Thurs-day the Beethoven club will meet at Evelyn Peck's residence, with Miss Peck and Emily Currie as hostesses. Friday, January 10, the first league basketball game will be played when the Cavemen will meet Lincoln high- The prospects for this season are very bright. Out of the nine pre-season games played by American Fork, they won all except ex-cept the two with Heber. Tire support sup-port of the townspeople as well as the students is desired. I Wednesday afternoon a program was presented by the B. Y. U. Ann Clayson presided and the following program was presented: Invocation by Mr. Phillips; Ann Clayson and Leland Friday rendered three violin duets, accompanied by Elda Neves of Pleasant Grove; base solos by Ralph Britch of Manti, "Give a Man a -Horse he can Ride," and "Danny Boy." Miss Lorna Wense gave two readings, "Ashes of Romance" Ro-mance" and a comic reading; she also whistled two numbers, "Sylvia" and "Loves Old Sweet Song," and Ann Clayson rendered a violin solo. |
