After spending the forepart of the ('.ay 1 -oking over the work projects and interviewing enrollees along the vocational training line, Mr. Hedges f; ent a few hours in tlr; office with Superintendent Hyde. Several analysis anal-ysis of Job training courses have been ordered for this camp at the MifiBcstlcn of Mr. Hedges. Inspector S'chubert, operations representative, rep-resentative, visited the projects under un-der progress. Toward evening he Inspected the office records. Mr. Schubert, complimented the camp highly on its outlined work program. pro-gram. He aLso expressed pleasure with the progressive improvements underway at this camp. The next morning, September 30, Mr. Schubert inspected the trucks and shop. He also expressed appreciation for the manner in which this phase of the program was progressing. ' I A no-accident month was accomp-1 accomp-1 lished during September at Camp P-6. Considerable training is being given the workers in weekly safety meetings. Safety is impressed on thoir minds, assignments on topics cf safety regularly being the order of these meetings. The experiment of having one man assigned weekly on crews as safety man, who reports any and all conditions endangering safety, is being tried. It is believed much good will will come of this system. Forest Fire Guard Morris "Pid" Lewis left Soapstone on September 30 to attend school at the Utah Agricultural Agri-cultural college this term. Mr. Lewis has made many friends during his work at Soapstone this summer. Lieutenant Brown, formerly the junior officer at this camp, returned last week for a visit to Soapstone. i He has been in Indiana with rela-! rela-! tives since leaving the camp. Lieu- tenant Brown expects to continue his college work at the University of ! Utah. I o |
