Show Former Resident Meets Tragic Death Acquaintances in this city were very much shocked to learn of the tragic death in Blackfoot, Idaho, of John O'Brien, 29, formerly a resident of this city. The decapitated body of Mr. O'Brien was found on the Oregon Shortline tracks near Black-foot Black-foot last Saturday by the crew of a freight train. Identification of the dead man was made by two companions, Tho-I Tho-I mas Tidwell, formerly of this city, and Cliff Martin with whom the deceased was traveling. He was with these two and left the group at Blackfoot, and when he failed to return they boarded a freight train, according to the report given of the accident, bound for Idaho Falls thinking Mr. O'Brien was on another an-other car of the same train. Upon i reaching Idaho Falls his companions failed to find him and notified the county sheriff. His body was found about an hour after the accident by the train crew. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 9:30 a. m. in the Our Divine Saviour Catholic church in Salt Lake City and burial took place in the Salt Lake City cemetery. Tidwell is a half brother of the deceased, de-ceased, and they left Utah a few days before the accident occured in search of work. A brother, Cairns O'Brien, resides in Salt Lake City. |
