Show Political Picture In County Changes Roy Greenwood of American Fork and Hyrum A. Anderson of Lehi announced Thursday their withdrawal with-drawal from the Democratic political politi-cal race for nomination at tire county coun-ty convention at Springville Saturday. Satur-day. The withdrawal of Mr. Greenwood, Green-wood, who was an announced candidate can-didate for the two-year county com-j com-j missioner nomination, and Mr. Anderson, An-derson, who was out for renomina- j tion for state representative, cleared clear-ed a tangled political situation in north Utah county which threatened threaten-ed to carry an American Fork-Lehi fight into the convention. Mr. Anderson withdrew in favor of Irving L. Pratt, who has announced his candidacy for state representative representa-tive nomination. Mr. Greenwood simultaneously announced his part cf the agreement to withdraw in favor of Sylvan W. Clark of Lehi, who is seeking the county commis- sioner nomination. It was conceded that neither American Fork nor Lehi could hope to win both .nominations, .nomi-nations, and that an agreement dividing the posts was for the best interests of both cities. Marion C. Robinson remains in the race for state representative, and Wallace Jenkinson of Lehi may possibly seek the commissionership nominatio.n. Mr. Jenkinson would enter the convention without the backing of his local delegation. It is generally understood that the north end of the county will be entitled en-titled to place the two-year commissioner com-missioner and two state representatives representa-tives on he ticket. The south end is seeking to be represented with candidates for four-year commissioner, commis-sioner, and two state representatives, and the Provo district with one state representative and the county attorney. at-torney. Candidates for nomination at the convention Saturday include the following: fol-lowing: State representative Mrs. Delia Kirkendall, Dividend; Mrs. Pearl Bigler, Payson; Robert L. Wilson, Wil-son, Payson; Frank M. Edmund, Salem, incumbent; Mrs. J. W. Aird, Provo, incumbent; Spencer Madsen, Lake View, appointee of Governor Blood; Irving L. Pratt and Marion C. Robinson. Two-year commissioner Sylvan W. Clark, Lehi; and Wallace Jenk- mson, Lehi. .four-year commission- 1 er William J. Johnson, ' Spanish Fork, incumbent; Enos W. Simons, Payson. County attorney Arnold C. Roylance, Springville; and LeRoy Tuckett, Provo. Alfred G. Gunn, deputy U. S. marshal, of Salt Lake City, will be the convention keynoter, county chairman Hugh M. Woodwai'd has announced. Congressman J. Will Robinson and District Judge Martin M. Larson, Democratic candidates for United States representative and state supreme court justice, re-sprctively, re-sprctively, will be the principal speakers. District Judge Abe W.
