Show Rodeo, Horse Pulling To Feature Utah County Fair i Supervised by Edward Banks of Palmyra, the horse pulling contest in the Utah county Fair is attracting attract-ing interest all over the county. Owners of strong, well matched teams are grooming them for the events of September 15. The pulling matches will be one of the first of the big afternoon events on the three day Fair program September 15, 10 and 17. Other afternoons will be filled with a horse show and a rocleo. Only Utah county horses are eli-glmble eli-glmble to enter in this competition, it 13 important to note. Some misunderstanding mis-understanding as to the eligibility of teams from other sections has caused some team owners to be hesitant hesi-tant about bringing their outfits to the Fair. Officials of the Fair are emphatic in their statement that all horses from outside Utah county will be barred. Prizes of $40, $25, and $10 will be awarded to the three winning teams in each of two weight classes. Teams will be divided according to their weight, the division of the classes being made at the 3000 pound mark. Teams will be weighed at the Smoot Brothers coal company in Provo before be-fore 11 a. m. on September 15. |
