Show I Mrs. Sykes j Leader Democratic Study Club Mrs. Glen Sykes was selected by a group of the Junior Democrats of this city to act as chairman of the Democratic Ladies Study Group which is being organized here. Miss Lillie Shafter was selected to act as secretary. It is the purpose of the organization to meet at least once each month and study not only the principles of the party but to study various phases of governmental affairs af-fairs as well. The reporter plan, which originated in Utah and which President Roosevelt has put into action all over the United States will be inaugurated here in connection with the study group. ! At the meeting which was held last Friday night, John Clark, chairman chair-man of the Junior Democrats of this city was in charge. Guy Callahan Calla-han of Provo, who recently was selected to act as chairman of the Junior Democratic county organization, organiza-tion, was present and addressed the meeting. Mrs. W. H. Callahan of Provo, lady chairman of the county central committee, and H. Grant Ivins, also of Provo, both ardent Democratic workers spoke , briefly. Entertainment was furnished by Miss Louise Boyers of Provo who rendered three vocal selections accompanied by Miss Nanine Owens. 1 Mr. Callahan invited all Democrats of the city to join in the Junior Democratic outing of Utah county which is to be held Tuesday, August 7, at Geneva commencing at 5 p. m. |
