Show First Ward Jubilesta Most Successful The First ward Jubilesta held in the basement of the Tabernacle Thursday evening was a huje success. suc-cess. The afternoon and evening of fun and gaity was well attended and enjoyed by all. Amid the splendor and color of a Spanish Carnival the Jubilesta began be-gan at 2:00 p. m. with a bazaar where fancy pieces of needlework furnished by the ward's best sewers were auctioned off. The children were entertained after school hours at a fish pond, candy booths and a dance. At 7:00 p. m. a dinner was served. A feast consisting of roast beef, brown gravy, mashed potatoes, salad, parsnips, turnips, celery, plum pudding, pud-ding, etc. more than satisfied the hungry appetites of the 300 merry makers. Musical numbers were rendered during the banquet. The entire day was climaxed by the dance at 9:00 p. m. Between the dances a group from the B. Y. U. under the direction of Harold Thurston of Provo, presented some novelty tap dances and a quilt was given away. The funds raised from the Jubilesta Jubiles-ta will be used to renovate the interior in-terior of the First ward chapel. General improvements will be made with these funds. |
