Show Deer Creek Water Meet Well Attended A large crowd of interested citizens attended the Deer Creek water meet-ir.r meet-ir.r held Wednesday evening at the city hall. Elmer Jacobs, engineer for the project and County Commissioner Com-missioner J. W. Gillman were the principal speakers. They urged the need of the project and told of the j plans as set forth by the government. govern-ment. They gave the estimated cost as around $6 to $8 per acre foot and suggested that a fair allotment for the American Fork group to subscribe sub-scribe for would be: American Fork Irrigation Co. 1800 acre feet arXl American Fork City 500 acre feet. Several discussions were entered into as to costs, water available, terms to pay, etc. Some opposition opposi-tion was given by; several farmers who felt that they could not stand an additional charge to water their crops. After some discussion a vote carried car-ried that the Irrigation Company and the city make further investigations investi-gations before any actiori be taken in regards to the water. Lot Robinson Rob-inson acted as chairman of the meeting. |
