Show u Handcraft Show Dance Festival Most Successful The handicraft exhibit and dance festival given by the recreation department de-partment as the final activity of the season, last Friday, proved to , be most successful, with nearly 500 adults calling during the day. A colorful and interesting display of more than 250 articles made in the handcraft classes by the children chil-dren drew many-compliments. Work exhibited included hand-painted fabrics, wood fiber flower corsages, leather brading, hand woven pillow tops, weaving looms, for rugs and other articles, hammered wood pictures, pic-tures, Snow White and the dwarfs, and Indian pottery. Another interesting section showed work planned for the future. Here were exhibited trays with electric burned designs, polychrome book-ends, book-ends, burnt leather design, weaving designs, leather belts, and scrap-books. scrap-books. The program featured dancing by the group of children, and vocal solos. Miss Gunda Anderson, state W P A dance director was in attendance, at-tendance, and spoke briefly. She said the displays and program were "excellent," and were some of the best work she had seen in the state. o |
