Show o Fourth Ward To Stage 4-Act Play To Increase Fund The "old-time players" of the Fourth ward will present a four-act play, "The Wayfarer", in the afternoon after-noon and evening of Friday, March 24. Proceeds will go to the ward building fund. ' Performances will be a matinee at 4 o'clock, and an evening show at 8 o'clock, in the ward chapel. An orchestra will play before curtain time, and special entertainment numbers will be given between acts. The four-act drama by Catherine Kavanaugh, noted playwright, is directed by R. W. Weiser and Bert Timpson. The cast of characters follows: Bert Christensen as Uncle Billy Larkins; Howard Christensen, Josh Waterbury; Tom Hansen, Heze-kiah Heze-kiah Green, the animal poet; Bert Timpson, Frank Dudley, the adventurer; adven-turer; R. W. Weiser, Jim Watson, a slave to drink; Ben Clark, the Reverend Rev-erend John Graham; Mary Pulley, Miss Philura, Uncle Billy's sister; Susie Steele, Emmeline Larkins, Uncle Billy's niece; Carrie Beck, Bessie Lynn, a wayfarer; Laura Timpson, Clytie, a wayfarer; "The Mutt", another wayfarer. The setting set-ting is a country village near Boston. Children attending the evening performance will be admitted at adult prices. Miss Mary Pulley is chairman of the ticket committee. The play will be presented at the Utah State Training School Thursday. Thurs-day. : o |
