Show the Utah Stake Relief Society, gave a report of the national convention of social workers, which she recently attended in San Francisco, California. The large crowd of officers, teach ers, Priesthood members and visitors " who attended the regular monthly Stake Priesthood, Relief Society and - ii.jj Primary' union meeting Sunday after noon, August 11, at 2:00 o'clock in the Alpine Stake Tabernacle, pronounced pro-nounced it one of the most interesting interest-ing meetings yet held. President Presi-dent C. E. Young presided and Pres. Jesse M. Walker was in charge. President J. Golden Kirriball spoke to the combined congregation on the general assembly program, emphasizing emphasiz-ing the importance of making friends wherever we go. He related some of his experiences in the Southern States mission relative to this. He further warned the Latter-day Saints against fault finding and criticising the authorities of the church. Elder Richard Hansen of the Granite Stake, a recently returned missionary .from Florida, related briefly his experiences in the southern south-ern states mission. President Maude D. Christensen of the Alpine Stake Relief Society announced an-nounced the first annual Flower Show of the Relief Societies of this stake to be held in the Tabernacle basement base-ment August 27. She urged everyone to support this interesting function. Muscial numbers during the general gen-eral program consisted of the congregation congre-gation singing "Guide Us O Thou Great Jehovah" and a violin trio by 'Misses Ann Clayson, Grace Parker and Amy Devey accompanied by Miss Faye Parker. E. B. Hawkins gave the opening prayer. Adjournment for the various classes class-es was the next order of the meeting. President Kimball met with the 12Sth and 67th quorums of Seventies. At this time the 128th quorum was disorganized dis-organized and the members trans-ferrd trans-ferrd to the 67th quorum. The officers elected were as follows: Eugene S. Briggs, Senior president; J. E. Parker, Lloyd B. Adamson, Elmer P. Chipman, J. LeRoy Greenwood, Green-wood, William B. Smith. William Fredericks Strong, presidents; T. A. Parratt. secretary and Warren V. Smith, assistant secretary. David K. Wagstaff of the Second ward was raised upon to be ordained an Elder and James E. Skinner was passed upon to be ordained Second Counselor in the 5th quorum of Elders. The following were passed upon to lie ordained High Priests: James W. Phillips. James Holmes. John F. Moyle, George Ernest Clarke, James W. Healey. George E. Burgess and Alfred J. Devey. In the Relief Society department Mrs. Achsa E. Paxman, president of |
