Show ' i James Jones Brought Here From Salt Lake For Burial Funeral services -were held in the Third ward chapel Tuesday afternoon, after-noon, August 13, at 4 o'clock for James Jones, 48, son of the late John J. and Sarah Briggs Jones, who died August 10 in a Salt Lake hospital following fol-lowing an illness of one and half years. Bishop John Hunter was in charge. The Relief Society quartet sang as an opening selection "Cast Thy Bread Upon The Waters," after which F. M. Houston offered the invocation. The trio then sang "Through Deepening Trials." The speakers were George E. Abel, a life long neighbor of the Jones' family, Dr. James M. Grant and President C. E. Young. Mifs Ann Ciayson played a violin solo "Oh Dry Those Tears" interspersing inter-spersing the speakers. The closing-musical number wTas "Farewell To Thee" by the Relief Society trio, President Young pronounced pro-nounced the benediction. - Interment was made in the City cemetery, where George Graham of Bountiful dedicated the grave. James G. Jones was born in Provo, January 6, 18S1. On December 25, 1908, he married Ida Rishton of this city. They have made their I 'home in Salt Lake the past five years. Mr. Jones was a miner the ' greater part of his life. Besides his wife, his mother, Mrs. Sarah Jones, and the following children child-ren survive: Mina, Ellen, James, Neldon, Jack and 'Mrs. May Durhidge, all of Salt Lake City. The following follow-ing brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. Beth Sabey of Diamond City, Canada; Mrs. Delia Clark of Del Norte, Colorado; Mrs. Anna Campbell of Inglewood, California; J. W. Jones of Chicago, 111.; Mrs. Louis Birk and Earl Jones of this city. Among the out-of-town visitors who attended the services were: Mr. and Mrs. George Graham of Bountiful, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Birk, Mrs. Thelma Furgenson of Provo, Mrs. Anna Campbell Camp-bell of Inglewood, California, Mrs. Violet B. Gardner, David Baysinger, Mr. and Mrs. Wagner, Mr. and Mrs. Lucas and Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Mac Canley of Salt Lake City. |
