Show ' Peter Axel Johnson Dies at Daughter's Home Here Mon. Peter Axel Johnson. 93. died at the home of his daughter. Mary Johnson Miller, Monday, of old age j and general debility. He was born February 20, 1843, at Alminge, Sweden. Swe-den. He came to Utah and located in Salt Lake City 65 years ago. He moved to Pleasant Grove two years later and has lived here all of his life. While in Salt Lake City he worked for Brigham Young in the grist mill at Liberty Park. He assisted in building the railroads in Cottonwood Cotton-wood and American Fork canyons. He was also a. successful farmer. He was a faithful Latter - day Saint and held the office of a High driest at the time of his death. His first wife, Kaxolina, Karlson Johnson, whom he married in Sweden, Swe-den, has been dead many years. Surviving are his second wife. Margaret S. Johnson, whom he married mar-ried June 14, 1922, and four daughters daugh-ters by his first wife as follows: Annie S Johnson Lambert, Salt Lake City; Mary J. Miller, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Ellen Nelson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Irene Horton, Los Angeles, An-geles, Calif.; also 72 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday Fri-day at 1 p. m. in the Timpanogos stake tabernacle. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove city cemetery. n |
