Rumel Cragun, a missionary who will leave soon for the Canadian minion said iu part- "I am thankful ;or the opportunity of going on 'a mission. My mother has always instilled into my heart the desire to go on a mission. I have helped in Siu.dav School and Boy Scout, work ?nd have enjoyed it very much. I have also enjoyed my missionary class. May we enjoy our opportunities opportu-nities to live the gospel according to our best ability." A solo, "One Fleeting Hour", was rendered by Jennie Halliday, with Elda Neves as accompanist. Apostle Richards spoke for a short time. "When I think of the condition of the world today, it makes me feel a keen desire to teach the gospel. I want to teach them the way to gain a testimony of the truthfulness of this work. "Faith is the moving cause of all action, the foundation of all righteousness. right-eousness. Without faith it is impossible im-possible to please God. We must please Him if we are to gain His kingdom. Christ said, 'He that has seen Me has seen the Father.' The choir- sang, "Captain of Israels Hosts" and an anthem entitled, en-titled, "Open our Eyes." The benediction bene-diction by Bishop C. J. Cobbley closed clos-ed the meeting. Th ou?rier!y conference of the Timpanogos Sialic was held in the Tabernacle Saturday evening and Sunns y. Apostle George F. Richards representing the general authorities cf the church was prersnt ut a.l sessions. Stake President W. W.. Warnick presided. Tire speakers of the Saturday eve-j ning session were President W. W. Wamick who gave a report of the activities of the Melchesidic Priest-1 hood, and H. E. Johnson who spoke of the activities of the Seventies. Quorum, his topic being "What the Seventies Quorum is doing to Help) The Work of the Stake." The music was furnished by the Windsor Ward Quartette and an accordian solo was played by Rulon Brimhall. The invocation was given by A. H. Lowe and the benediction by Lynn Cullimore. Stake President W. W. "Live the gospel as you should and your example will radiate among your neighbors. "My desire is to ever uphold the hands of the general authorities of this church and the Timpanogos Stake leaders." Richards were, "I hope that we may profit by remembering the good instructions of the previous speakers and put them into our lives. This is the Lord's work, not man's work. There is a promise of reward re-ward for all of the efforts we put forth. The same sacrifice is required re-quired when we take positions at home as when we go into the mis-usion mis-usion field. The Sunday evening session was under the direction of the stake M. I. A with Superintendent H. P. Joner. in charge. Clifford E. Young, president of the Alpine Stake was the first speaker. "Mutual w-ork is very near to my heart. I have gained much encouragement encour-agement from M. I. A. work. There is nothing finer in the church than the contact with these fine boys and girls. They are more awake to problems of the day. Their problems are more acute than those of early days. I like the faith of our young people today. Our meeting houses on Tuesday evening are crowded with the youth of Zion. Tliis reflects re-flects the fine attitude of the young folks. ' There are ninety-six members in a ; quorum, all holding the Melchesdic priesthood, which means the power to act for God. The Aaronic Priest-" Priest-" hood quorum consists of twelve deacons dea-cons to a quorum, who are expected to take care of the temporal affairs B of the ward. They have the authori-ty authori-ty to ordain other deacons. The S Teachers quorum consists of twenty-5' twenty-5' four members. Their duty is to assist in the temporal affairs of the "' ward. "The Lord said to Moses, 'It is my glory to bring forth the eternal life of man.'" "The purpose of saving souls is the end in view. For this purpose the gospel has been restored. Blessed Bless-ed are those who have had the opportunity op-portunity of hearing and accepting the Gospel of Christ. We should be willing to do all we can to help in every call. Heaven for all we have and are. Apostle Richards' talk was on "Character". Some of his gems of thought were: "Character is like the noon day sun. Let lis aim high and work for character. As a man thinkcth so he is. Man is literally what he thinks. A noble and God like character, is not a thing of chance, but is built by life long, Godlike God-like thought. The conference continued Sunday , afternoon, and opened with music by the Third ward choir. Mary Neves j directing. Radmall, stake clerk, presented the general and stake autlnrities of the church for approval. Halliday Jr., a recently j returned missionary from Germany j spoke briefly. "The greatest satisfaction satis-faction in this life is gained through service. Everyone of us should be trying to live in peace and joy with our loved ones. It isn t what we say that counts so much las what we do. The mother sacrifices for her missionary husband or son; often goes without, actual needs that they may not want Women are not the head of the house. They were taken from the side of man to be loved and protected pro-tected and to be a helpmate to their husbands. Women should encourage their husbands to take care of their work in the church.
