Show Child Welfare Group Organizes Pleasant Grove's Child Welfare committee completed its organization organiza-tion Sunday, and this week was starting its work by providing dental den-tal work for a local child. At the meeting Sunday, called by President Leo Harvey, the organization organiza-tion was completed, with Mrs. Mabell Jense, representing the Red Cross, named as vice president; H. E. Bradley, Brad-ley, representing the ' Chamber of Commerce, secretary and treasurer; and Mrs. Laura Robertson of the Parent-Teacher association, Mrs. Ida West of the Mothers club and Dr. Allen-Pierson of the Lions club, committee members. Objectives of the Child Welfare committee are to provide medical and dental care for underprivileged children of the community. This work formerly was handled through the Provo Child Welfare committee, which has made available to i-ne lo- cal organization records showing tne extent of corrective work needed by the children of the community. A large number of underprivileged children need tonsillectomies, and a still larger number need dental work, while many need treatment for correction of various defects. The Child Welfare committee hopes to carry on work for the benefit of the underprivileged, and will seek funds from the city, civic clubs, Red Cross, and Alpine School district to finance its program. |
