Show Stake M. I. A. Contests Next 3 Ion. and Tues. The Alpine ptake finals in the four M. I. A. 'activity events, Speech, Story, Drama and Dance will be held next Monday and Tuesday nights. May 7th and 8th. The music festival given here recently has replaced re-placed the Music contests in the church program. The drama contest will be held Monday night in Firmage hall, commencing com-mencing at 7:30 sharp. The wards entering the contest with the names of the plays are: Alpine Ward First Ward "Friend of the Family". Second Ward "Friend of the Family". Third Ward "Friend of the Family." M. Men Public Speaking First Ward Stanford Steele. Third Ward Glen Gordon. Fourth Ward Stewart Dun-ant. Alpine Ward LeRoy Terry. Gleaner Girls Public Speaking Alpine Ward Beth McDaniel. First Ward Catherine Shelton. Fourth Ward Either Miss Dorothy Doro-thy Grant or Miss Ferl Dean who tied for ward honors, the decision to be made by the end of this week. Junior Girls Re-Told Story First Ward Miss Hazel Anderson. Second Ward Miss Edith Clarke. , Third Ward Miss Irene Giddings. Fourth Ward Miss Fern Robinson Vanguard Re-Told Story First Ward Glen Nobel. Third Ward Howard Robinson. Fourth Ward Phil Jensen. Dancing First Ward Mary Bennett and j Howard Bush. i Second Ward Bessie Kelly and iLuZell Chipman, Mildred Chipman and Fred Healey. Third Ward Beth Hutchings and ' Gilbert Shumway, Eda Ashby and Eldon Hansen. I The contests in M. Men Public speaking, the Gleaner Public speaking, speak-ing, the Junior Girl and Vanguard Re-told story will be held commencing commenc-ing at 7:30 Tuesday night in the tabernacle auditorium and the dance contest will follow these other events in the amusement hall. Monday night a fee of - one dime will be charged as admittance to the drama contests to defray expenses of the hall. The contest events Tuesday night are free. Mrs. Jarvis Aydelotte and West I Hammond, stake activity leaders, are head of the arrangements for stake contest events. Miss Mary Pulley and Joseph Walton, stake drama leaders will be in charge Monday night; Mrs. Dessie Wilde and Edgar Booth, dance and speech -story leaders lead-ers respectively will officiate Tuesday Tues-day night. The winners of the contests con-tests will represent Alpine stake in the division finals to be held in Provo Pro-vo later in May. The stake M. I. A. executive officers offi-cers have called the ward M. I. A. presidencies and superintendencies to meet Saturday night in the tithing office at which time places for the order of appearance in the events will be drawn. At this meeting also, the summer projects for the stake and ward M. I. A. organizations will be discussed and adopted. 0 |
