Show BRAKEMAN INJURED BY TRUCK ..B. H. Harrington of Salt Lake was seriously injured Tuesday about 6:20 a. m. when he stepped in front of a coal truck driven by Wayne Godfrey of Murray. According to officer Chestnut, Harrington, who was standing on the curb in front of the Orem station, stepped directly di-rectly into the path of the east-bound east-bound truck. He apparently did not look in either direction before beginning be-ginning to cross the street. Godfrey applied his brakes but was unable to stop in time. Godfrey was not-held, as officer Chestnut classified the accident as unavoidable. Harrington, who was a member of the Orem freight train crew who were switching some cars from the Utah Poultry Producers' spur, was cut badly about the face and head, his shoulder was dislocated dislo-cated and he sustained an injury to his back. He was taken to the Lehi hospital, where his condition was reported re-ported as slightly improved yesterday. |
