Show UTAH BOYS HAVE CHANCE TO ATTEND U. S. COLLEGES Senator William H. King will have one vacancy in his quota of appointments appoint-ments to the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1935. He will also have three vacancies in his quota of appointments to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis in 1935. In order that all young men who are bonafide residents of the State of Utah and are ambitious and desirous de-sirous of attending either the Military Mili-tary Academy or the Naval Academy may have an equal opportunity to receive an appointment. Senator King will conduct a competitive examination ex-amination under the auspices of the I United States Civil Service Commission. Commis-sion. The competitive examination for both Academies will be held cn SATURDAY, JANUARY 5, 1935, at 9 A. M., local tme, in Salt Lake City, Ogden, Logan, Provo, Richfield and Cedar City. The examination for the Military Academy includes the following subjects: sub-jects: Algebra, Plane Geometry, English Eng-lish Composition and Literature, History His-tory and English Grammar. The examination for the Naval Academy includes the same subjects, with the exception of English Grammar Gram-mar and substitutes therefor physics. Candidates are eligible for admittance admit-tance to the Military Academy from the day they are 17 years of age until the day they become 22 years of age. Candidates are eligible for admittance admit-tance to the Naval Academy if they are not less than 16 years of age and not more than 20 years of age on April 1st of the calendar year in which they would enter the Academy. |
